This cat from Russia has had a difficult past—the animal had been living on the streets, fighting for every bite of food and finding shelter wherever he could.
“We found him near the entrance to our house,” the cat’s current humans told Bored Panda. “He looked like he was a home cat who didn’t know how to survive outside—he would just sit in one place for long periods of time.”
The family tried their best to locate the cat’s owners but nobody answered to their ads so they took him in.
“We named him Ginger because we already have a black cat who we call Mr. Black.” The two instantly became best friends!
But even though Ginger is now living in a warm, loving home, you can really see his old days have hardened him. The cat likes to spend time in his family’s backyard, enjoying the snow and exploring his surroundings.
“He is super cute. He loves to be with his people and I think that he knows how to enjoy life because it looks like he savors every moment.”
Ginger’s humans said he prefers to stay at home but from time to time he willingly goes outside as well. “Snow is not a problem for him; Ginger likes to explore the outdoors in winter too. He even plays with snow. But it usually doesn’t last very long and he runs back home.”
His owners said Ginger is a bit of a troll. “When he is patrolling his territory, he likes to tease neighboring cats and dogs. For example, he sits in front of the fence and just stares at a dog who is barking at him.”
Ginger likes to play outside in summer too. Since his humans are often in the garden at this time of year, he likes to check up on them and see what they are doing. When he is not destroying the garden beds himself, of course!
