We all need a friend, especially when we’re having stress or anxiety. A true friend not only gives support but also consistently listens to us. This also works with animals. The story of a 2-year-old Weimaraner dog named Arnold is a great example of how a good friend helps us overcome our tough time. Thankfully, his now ower got him an emotional support dog to help him get back his normal life. Scroll down to know more!

Arnold’s owner, Carolyn Manalis living in Perth, Australia knew that she needed to do something to make him feel better. She decided to adopt Frank—a miniature dachshund from a friend of hers. This pup was so adorable and he soon became an emotional support dog for Arnold.

This left the dog emotionally scarred, and grew even more fearful, especially around big dogs.

Some people think that emotional support dogs only “work” for humans. It’ true but not all true. Such a dog would help Arnold with his anxiety. “The bond these two dogs have is just insanely beautiful. They are so connected and loving and supportive of one another. If one ever cries, the other one is there in half a second to check they are OK. Their love is unconditional, regardless of their size or breed.” Carolyn spoke to Caters News.

The much tinier and younger Frank is the one that brings reassurance to Arnold who weighs 66 pounds more than him. It sounds strange but actually happens. This adorable guy successfully helped his big brother overcome crippling anxiety.

She said: “Frank has helped Arnold regain his confidence to be able to play and wrestle while learning that this doesn’t always mean he’s going to get hurt or attacked. Having a little friend to play with has been the perfect therapy for Arnold to heal.”

Amazingly, Frank learned plenty of tricks from his big brother. “We swear Frank thinks Arnold is his dad,” the owner of the dogs told the news outlet. “Being the second child, he definitely didn’t get as much training and attention as the first. Most of what he has learned, he has learned from Arnold.”

Like many other younger brothers, Frank loves copying their older siblings! “Frank copies everything Arnold does, to the point where, if Arnold barks or makes a sound, Frank will mimic it directly after, almost like a parrot!” Carolyn explained. “Arnold taught Frank how to be house trained, how to bark at intruders, how to chase a ball, how to stand and wait to have his collar and leash put on, how to sit and to wait before crossing the road,” she added. “Everywhere Arnold walks, Frank will follow.”
