Just like humans, some unfortunate animals are born with a few unexpected birth defects sometimes, but it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve love and a great life. Lucky for a short-spined dog named Tilly, she has them both.
Tilly is the only one from her litter that was born with Short Spine Syndrome, a rare condition that causes cervical spine compression and makes dogs look like they have no neck at all. The Tibetan spaniel girl was overlooked and unwanted for so long, until Anna Marie Giannini showed up like a hero to save her from euthanization. They were destined to meet and have a soul journey together.
“I’m here to raise awareness about dogs with deformations,” Anna wrote on behalf of the puppy when she created an Instagram account for her. “Because of my deformation, I was planned to get put down by my previous owner due to my syndrome and the unknown future. That’s when my mom rescued me!”
According to what Anna shares, despite that unusual look, Tilly’s health condition is perfectly fine and she absolutely adores her sweet life with mommy. They cuddle and snuggle up all the time and Anna even gave her an incredible Christmas gift to get in bed whenever she feels like it.
“I have no problem walking, playing, and running, I just look a little funny while doing so,” she wrote. “My mom tells me I’m special and that my smallness does not make me unwanted and I hope to defy the odds and live a long healthy happy life.”
It has been almost ten months since Anna brought her lovely pup home and Tilly just becomes stronger and happier day by day. In fact, she doesn’t even realize she is any different from other dogs. The adorable girl is often the center of attention and both humans and dogs have a soft spot for her. She is a friend of everyone!
Just like Anna is a perfect mommy who takes good care of Tilly, Tilly also means the world to this woman. The sweetie pie is always there to remind her how wonderful and special it is to be different from what we often call “normal”.
Please share Tilly’s amazing life with your friends and family!
